Problems

Unemployment

In Djibouti the unemployment rate is 60%. With the drought there hasn't been that many available jobs. Many families don't have a family member to bring money to the table. Even though the government provides aid to those in need, it's not enough to provide to every single unemployed person. We are looking for volunteers that could provide help and support. By only donating money you can't provide food and a home to a family in need.

Water & Drought

Djibouti has had a drought for many years for lack of rain.

Which is the cause of surge on unemployment and many diseases especially malnutrition. The drought has affected 120,000 people, basically 1/8 of the population. The drought had

caused loss of income and rising of prices by 50%. It has caused also a massive lost of livestock by 70-80% and was the cause of the lost of any crops. To provide help, we need volunteers to provide at least food or money because without rain there is no jobs and without jobs there is no food.

Diseases

In Djibouti there is many contagious diseases. These diseases are at a high degree of risk. Many of the diseases in Djibouti are malnutrition,malaria,tuberculosis, AIDS/HIV, dengue fever, and cholera. Malnutrition is one of the most afffected in children for not receiving enough calcium and vitamin B. Most of the diseases are spreaded by infected mosquitoes and contaminated foor or water due to the need of sanitation. We need volunteers that can provide at least money or help provide sanitation to djibuotians.
